Three receive Bates Medal for multicultural efforts

May 1, 2015 The Leslie K. Bates Medal of Excellence was presented to Jon Hurst, Mariah Domenech and Marvin J. Nunnally during the Multicultural Services and Programs Senior Leader Reception on April 25 at the Richard B. Russell Building Special Collections Libraries. The three were honored for their commitment to the University of Georgia's multicultural community.

Expert in multiculturalism Sonia Nieto to speak at UGA

Feb 13, 2013 Sonia Nieto, a professor emerita of language, literacy and culture in the University of Massachusetts-Amherst's School of Education, will give a campus-wide lecture titled, "Finding Joy in Diverse Backgrounds: The Role of the University," Feb. 19 from 6-7 p.m. in Masters Hall at the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education.
